Abstract

‘Lok Adalat’ is one of the popular alternative dispute resolution systems in India for proving speedy and economical justice. The study examines the relationship between ‘number of Lok Adalats” organized and ‘solved cases’ in Rajasthan state. The study is based on the data provided by Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority for a period of more than one decade i.e. 2001 to 2013. The major conclusion drawn from the study is that there is a positive and significant relationship between number of Lok Adalats and solved cases in the Rajasthan state. Pooled regression technique has been used for the purpose of testing of hypotheses. The results confirm that there is high degree of relationship between number of Lok Adalats and solved cases.
