## A scoping review on epidemiology, etiology, transmission, clinical presentation, treatment and management of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) (Published)

Coronavirus (COVID-19) is a highly infectious disease which has posed serious threats to global health. This viral disease was discovered in late December 2019, in Wuhan, China. Infection rates due to the pandemic amounts to over 1 million globally while death rate is over 80,000. The United States, Italy and Spain are epicenters of the disease and have recorded more deaths due to the viral infection than other countries.  Since the virus is spreading worldwide, on March 11, 2020, the WHO officially described the COVID-19 outbreak as a pandemic. The virus is transmitted when people interact with each other for some time in close proximity. Precisely, this review aims to provide the evidence of early findings on the etiology, transmission, symptoms, treatment and management of COVID-19.Studies have recorded Covid-19 infection in asymptomatic patients and in those with visible symptoms. Elderly people, pregnant women, people with underlining illness and compromised immune system are very susceptible to COVID-19 than other categories of people, however, reports of deaths of people without history of underlining illness has led to controversies. The diseased due to the virus should try to seek appropriate medical help and limit their exposure to other unaffected persons. Currently, there are no vaccines for the pandemic, but the FDA has recommended hydroxyl chloroquine as a therapy for COVID-19. The likelihood of transmission can be reduced by practising hygienic measures. Frequent disinfection and cleaning are advised for groups that are at risk of contracting the virus.

## Concept Map and Target Task Approaches as Method Combination Therapy for Teaching Algebra in Schools (Published)

This paper formulated and discussed a Method Combination Therapy involving concept map and target task approaches to teaching factorisation of quadratic expressions to secondary school students (age 15 to 16). The paper considered the Type A and Type B forms of quadratic expressions making clear distinctions between both. The quadratic expressions having been factorised were applied to finding the solutions to quadratic equations. Sufficient activities were presented for both the teacher and the learners for mastery. The Method Combination Therapy is recommended for wider publication and usage in of teaching algebra in secondary schools.

## Amenability of Psychologically Traumatised Nigerian Youths to Counselling (Published)

The study investigated the level of trauma experienced by Nigeria children and adolescents.  It also examined the challenges being faced by the teaming population of youths that have been traumatized.  The study identified the various traumatic situations prevailing in Nigeria.  Also, it examined the availability and responsiveness of these youths to available Counselling and adequacy of Counselling.  The traumatic experience of youths seems to be accountable for most of the insurgency, terrorism and restiveness pervading entire Nigeria.  This is because there are occurrences such as kidnapping examination malpractices child trafficking bomb explosion, political offences, economic fraud, religious crisis, ritual killings, abduction drunkenness, armed robbery and so on.  All these seem to have defiled all weapons of sanitation in Nigeria. Descriptive research design of the survey type was used for the study after consulting the entire Nigeria population.  Based on the above discovery Nigeria government should consult the genealogy of harmful traumatic occurrences affecting the youths in Nigeria to be able to nip it in the bud.  Curriculum planners should identify incorporate trauma provoking situations into the school curriculum to be taught.  Counsellors and care givers should be trained on how to reduce and counsel traumatized youths.  Trauma centres to provide hospice services should be established by State and Federal Government. The study could be of benefit to school children parents teachers examination bodies counsellors, curriculum planners, religious leaders, school administrators and law enforcement agents.   They would learn, teach, counsel and ameliorate traumatic and trauma provoking situations.

## Chelation Therapy in the Neonatal Period: D-Penicillamine Has Possible Beneficial Effects on the Lethality of HIV or Ebola Infection Due To Vertical Transmission (Published)

D-penicillamine (DPA) was first recognized as a potential benefit for neonatal hyperbilirubinemia (NHBI). During this time there was a remarkedly low incidence of retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) in the infants treated with DPA. Later, our studies were replicated in other institutes in Hungary, Poland, U.S. A., India and Mexico. It is important to note that there was no intolerance or short- or long-term toxicity of the medication, in spite of the fact that in the newborn period DPA was used 10-20 times higher doses than those in adult. On the basis of an American research work concerning the beneficial effects of DPA-therapy in adult AIDS-patients (although in these cases there were many unpleasant, adverse effects), it would be reasonable to treat neonatal HIV- or Ebola-positivity due to vertical transmission with short-term DPA therapy (300 – 400 mg/kg/bw/day for 5-7 days). In addition, neonates born to mothers with Ebola virus disease have not survived yet, i.e. the lethality of this disease is 100 %. Therefore, we have a moral obligation to help the fight against HIV and EBOLA with this inexpensive (~30 US Dollar/baby) drug in the neonatal period.
