Conscious and unconscious speech (Published)
A native speaker fluently speaks the language which is ungrammatical; the native speaker has a nation that he can speak his mother tongue without mistake. The confidence he gets because it is his mother tongue which he take it for granted. The research I have made in my mother tongue is that when someone unconsciously utters a sentence that /doctor kan jo/ /go to the doctor/ when the person uttered the incomplete sentence what was the situation? What was reason? Why she/he uttered? Is not known but the context may be someone might have expressed his/her health condition. What was his/her condition? Where was she/he? All these questions arose in my mind which I thought of these broken sentences and I understand the meaning of the utterance.
One of the notable modern languages today is the gay lingo, a language established by the gay community. Gay people came to create their own words or neologisms to shield themselves from the harm of social stigma. This research provides a view of gay words formed through morphological processes and how they function in a sentence. This study specifically explored on neologisms in gay language through a qualitative approach – this was done by collecting new words from the gay community. The findings indicate that gay neologisms were mostly created through affixation and clipping wherein an original word is clipped and have a new component and meaning. It is also found out that there are existing words used in gay lingo that have different meanings. It is highly recommended to further analyze other morphological functions in the gay lingo.
The study investigated the handling of the supra-segmental features among Erei speakers of English. A survey questionnaire was administered to 150 respondents in selected secondary schools under study. The subjects were grouped by age into three: 10-12 years, 13-15 years and 16 years and above. Two research questions were formulated to direct the course of the study. Data were analysed in five sections through the application of four gradable items: SA – strongly agree, A – agreed, D – disagreed and SD – strongly disagreed. Findings showed that the prosodic features such as stress, rhythm and intonation are the basis for intelligibility than the individual segments, but the teaching of the features received less attention in the class as well as the teachers in the study did not have a good command of the prosodic features in their spoken English. The provision of well-designed curriculum and syllabus, oral textbooks with targeted supra-segmental features, well-equipped libraries and language laboratories, the introduction of radio and television language programmes and on-the-job training and retraining of teachers in spoken English were suggested to help solve the problem of intelligibility among the Erei people as L2 users of English in Nigeria.

Alfred Prufrock” and Mahmoud Darwish’s “A Truce with the Mongols in the Forest of Oak” indicates that the two poems are narrated using a fragmented, ironic and symbolic language.
