The Legal Nature of the Marriage Contract (Published)

This paper provides an analysis of the concept of a marriage contract, its characteristics, the difference between the civil code contracts and the terms of validity. Albanian civil code provides the marriage contract, which is a very important step in family relations, especially in the relationship between spouses, given the social position of women, but these changes did not find a suitable ground due to the patriarchal mentality of albanian society, which brought its implementation in rare cases in the field of family relations. Nowadays, spouses have the opportunity not only to contract on the property regime to which they will be subjected, but also beyond. The marriage contract is not limited to the determination of rights and obligations. It has the main purpose of fixing the wealth status of the family to be established, in terms of wealth rather than administration, determining the fate of most of the legal acts that spouses will do with third parties during their common life. Therefore, it can be considered as the “statute” of the family. The marriage contract represents the general rule in terms of regulating the property regime between the spouses. In the case when the latter have not signed a marriage contract, or it is invalid or related only to a part of the property, they will be subject to the property regime of the legal community.

Design and Fabrication of a Cost Effective Four Cavity Plastic Injection Mould for Bottled Water Handle (Published)

Design and fabrication of a cost effective four cavity plastic injection mould for production of bottled water handle with locally available materials has been achieved. This research was appropriate considering the impact on sales of a sampled company that used handles for their bottled water before the scarcity of handles as a result of monopoly in importation. The clamping force which is a function of cavity pressure, cavity force and projected area was obtained as 243.2239N. The maximum deflection and the maximum bending stress were calculated to be 2.3282x 10-3mm and 4.4677×105N/m2 respectively. The impact of the handle on the rate of return of the sampled company was tested. It was observed that before the introduction of handle, the Return on Investment (ROI) was approaching 30% and when handle was introduced, the ROI increased to 46.34% and 46.05% for the locally and foreign made handles respectively. However, the ROI declined to 34.41% when the handle was removed in both cases. This clearly shows that the handle has a great impact on the bottled water sales and market share for bottled water industries is expected to increase due to public acceptability. Also, the introduction of handle allowed for convenience in carrying bottled water especially the 1.5ltr. sizes.

One of the greatest enemies of human growth and societal development is corruption. More worrisome is when there is manifestly a deliberate failure to get rid of its spread and existence. This research is a survey type that assessed the perception of Nigerians on possible differential performance of EFCC along leadership regimes. This research is an extraction of a Ph.D thesis that explored both primary and secondary data. The theory of prismatic society provided a frame work for the analysis. The study reveals a differential perception on the performance of the EFCC along leadership regimes. It also shows that president Olusegun (1999-2007) is favorably higher in ranking in the fight against corruption than the YarAdua regime with Goodluck’s administration at lowest ebb of the score. The research concludes that the premise for this leadership cocksureness is the vacuum created by weak institution of governance. This vacuum provides an avenue for tendentious attitudes and despotic inclination to governance. The study recommends inter alia; a need for virile institutions of governance, political culture of discipline and leadership consciousness and conscious national agenda.
