The impact of problem solving strategy in the development of creative thinking among the second middle school students in the city of Tabuk (Published)
The study aimed to identify methods that can help the teacher in developing the students’ creative abilities, identify the steps of the problem solving strategy, and identify the impact of the problem solving strategy in the development of creative abilities (fluency, original flexibility and expansion) among The second middle school students in the city of Tabouk To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher followed the semi-experimental approach. The study tool was applied to a random sample of (54) female students of the second middle grade in Tabuk city, The researcher reached the following results: There were statistically significant differences at the level of (0.01) in the ability of fluency and flexibility for the benefit of the students of the experimental group who were trained in problem solving strategy, and the absence of statistically significant differences at (0.01) level of originality and addition between the experimental group and the control group.
Relationship between Self-Concept and Attitude towards Solving Algebraic Problems among Secondary Schools Students in Sokoto State, Nigeria (Published)
Developing a positive self-concept is one of the most fundamental goal of success in life. This usually has to begin starting from early childhood to school years. This study therefore, investigated the relationship between self-concept and attitude towards solving algebraic problems among secondary school students in Sokoto state, Nigeria. Three research questions and three hypotheses guided the study. The study employed descriptive survey design. A sample of 377 senior secondary two (SSII) students was drawn from the population through proportionate random sampling technique. Two instruments were used in the study: self-concept scale (SCS) and Attitude towards Solving Algebraic Problem Scale (ASAPS). The instrument was content validated by Subject Matter Experts (SME). The reliability coefficients of SCS and ASPS were 0.77 and 0.79 respectively determined through Cronbach alpha technique for internal consistency. The findings of the study revealed that there was a significant relationship between students’ self-concept and their attitude towards solving algebraic problems. Findings also showed that there was no significant difference in male and female students’ attitude towards solving algebraic problems. It was therefore, suggested among others that teachers should give adequate and sufficient attention to developing positive self-concept in students.
The Impact of the Problem-Solving Strategy in Stimulating Students’ Motivation to Learn Science (Published)
The study aimed to identify the impact of problem solving strategy in stimulating motivation of students to learn science, and to achieve the objectives of the study followed the researcher descriptive analytical approach in terms of application of the study tool and data collection and analysis, and the study population of all eighth grade students in the Directorate of Education Jerash. The sample of the study consisted of (30) students of eighth grade in Al-Fadl Ibn Abbas Elementary School for Boys. The study found that there is an impact of problem solving strategy in stimulating students’ motivation to learn science. The problem solving strategy contributes (65%) Encouraging student motivation to learn science, and recommended the researcher to work to mainstream the problem-solving strategy in all regions of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan because of its many benefits stimulate the motivation of students to learn.
