This paper x-rays the effective approaches to childhood education: connecting theory to practice in primary education. Primary education is the foundation of other levels of education. It is the education given to children of 6 years to 11 years or above. Also, the paper examines the concept of primary education, relationship between theory and practice and effect of practicals to primary education. This paper therefore recommended that: government should provide enabling environment for attaining of quality education ii primary schools and the curriculum of primary schools should be restructured to reflect the aims and objectives of primary education. Enough funds should be mapped out by the federal government for proper caring of primary education.

Quality Assurance and Standards in Primary Education in Nigeria (Published)

Quality education in nation building is essential in any growing country like Nigeria. It is based on this background that this paper tries to examine the importance of quality assurance in our education system. It went further to x-ray the needs for quality assurance strategies for establishing quality assurance, the roles of educational managers in assuring quality education in Nigeria and challenges facing quality assurance, The paper also recommended that the government of Nigeria should formulate policy that will last for a long time concerning education system in the country, quality in education system should therefore focus on optimal development of skills, knowledge, values, attitudes, morals and capabilities of the recipients with emphasis on those relevant to the individual and the society and government should provide enabling environment for attaining of quality education in Nigeria.

Globalization and Its Influence on the Production and Development of Education Policy (Published)

Globalisation is one of the most powerful facets by being witnessed in the world which would affect the education policy. Educational practices, structure, and policies across the globe have been affected as a result of globalization irrespective of the different experiences such as cultural, technological, political, and economic forces. The review and analysis conducted in regard to educational policy, aim of this paper determining how Hong Kong’s education policy has been affected as a result of globalisation. The reviews have documented effectiveness and efficiency of the pedagogy systems of various schools has also increased as a result of globalization, apart from playing a role in entirely transforming educational policy. It concluded that the marketization, privatization and commercialization may affect educational policy and planning in Hong Kong by drawing on education policy of pre-primary education voucher scheme. Due to globalisation, there is always a need for nation-states to reform the educational systems and services in response to globalisation.

Appraisal of Local Government Participation in the Administration of Primary Education in Nsukka Education Zone of Enugu State (Published)

The study investigated the extent of Local Government participation in the administration of primary Education in Nsukka Education Zone of Enugu State. One research question and one null hypothesis were formulated to guide the study. A 36-item researchers structured questionnaire was developed and administered to 986 respondents. The sample of the study was 986 participants comprising of five (5) education secretaries, 282 head teachers and 699 teachers. The population of the study were studied as the sample size which was obtained through simple random sampling technique. Descriptive survey research design was adopted. The data collected were analyzed using mean and standard deviation. A mean score of 2.50 was adopted as the cut-off-point or acceptable level for the items. The t-test statistic was employed in testing the three null hypotheses formulated for the study at 0.05 level of significance. The result of the analysis of the findings showed that the respondents are of the view that the local government councils in Nsukka education Zone do not participate meaningfully in the administration and funding of primary education. Based on the findings the study recommended that the three tiers of government should combine to fund primary education to avoid it being abandoned by a particular tier, among others

Market segmentation is customer-oriented philosophy. It is a technique of recognizing effectively the differences among customers. It is well-tested system for guiding marketing strategy. It enables primary education services industry to offer quality services and results-based education. The paper examines the theory and philosophy of market segmentation and its application in basic education (primary Education) services industry in Kano state. It begins with the critical analysis of market segmentation from theoretical and empirical perspectives. It highlighted some principles of market segmentation in the lights of dynamics in primary education industry in Kano state. Finally, it discusses the major areas of market segmentation that could be explored by the sector to bring about positive return on investment.
