Comparative Analysis of Opinions of Enterprise Managers and Business Students on Youth Entrepreneurship Development in Enterprises in the Context of Eritrea (Published)
The development of youth entrepreneurship has been forwarded as a very attractive alternative both to help the growing number of unemployed youth and to harness the potentials of the youth in an effort to bolster the economy of a country. This study has attempted to explore the level of importance of various factors for youth entrepreneurship development in enterprises in the context of Eritrea by seeking the opinions of private and public manufacturing enterprise managers and senior students in a business college. A total number of 150 managers and students were asked to rate 56 factors that are expected to influence or affect youth entrepreneurship development in enterprises. Respondents were asked to rate each factor, presented in the form of 5-points likert-scale. The ratings of the factors of importance for youth entrepreneurship development in enterprises by the three groups of respondents have a moderate degree of correspondence (as measured by the Spearman’s rho). Among the factors considered for youth entrepreneurship development in enterprises, prioritized factors by private enterprise managers are related with provision of more supportive environment for youth. Public enterprise managers have prioritized factors that target for the development of enterprise such as technology transfer and education while students have prioritized factors related with ambition, individual initiative and hard work In general, private enterprise managers were found to rate the factors higher compared to either public enterprise managers or the student group. The study has shown that the three groups of respondents have somewhat different opinions on how youth entrepreneurship in enterprises can be developed. This suggests the need to take into account the viewpoints of various relevant stakeholders when such programs of youth entrepreneurship development are envisioned.
Motivating Employees for Effective Organizational Advancement: The Focus on Managers of Printing Industry in the Kumasi Metropolis (Published)
A major contributor to Ghana’s development through employment creation and the dissemination enhancement of information to the general public is the Printing Industry. The main purpose of the study was to evaluate managers’ motivation for their employees for efficient Organisational advancement in the printing industry within the Kumasi Metropolis. This is because employee retention is necessary through motivation. The study employed qualitative surveys on the printing industry within the given study area with emphasis on general printing technology which has been in existence for more than two and half decades. The survey was projected to get managers of selected Printing Industry on their responses on what they feel are the best features that could motivate their employees for their self-actualisation and also in achieving effective organisational progression. The study seeks to identify the most ranked factor(s) among several motivated factors existed in the sector. However, it emerged that some managers adopted the theory of motivational needs of Maslow, Fayol, Taylor, Chester, Weber to inspire their employees for effective Organizational Advancement from the pragmatic findings.
Export Stimuli Perceived By the Managers of Industrial Companies: The Case of the Tunisian SME (Published)
The perception of export stimuli is particularly important and was identified by several studies as essential factor of the export success of the SME. An exploratory survey with Tunisian exporters SME allowed to identify which stimuli exports are perceived by the managers.
To being an online has been increasing every day. Employees are online day long by different method of access to web sources. To understand and lead to positive results of technology using is an important and practical matter for companies since it is so inevitable. The main purpose of this paper to examine the role of cyberloafing to predict innovative work behavior of employees in Adana and Mersin/Turkey from the banking sector. Doorn’s (2011) Cyberloafing Questionnaire and Innovative Work Behavior Scale (originally Janssen, 2000) were used for data gathering and both measures used that have been used and validated previously by other studies. Data were collected from 200 employees, with a .50 percent response rate. Questionnaires are completed anonymously. The sample of the study comprised men (n = 48) and women (n = 52), respondents’ average age was 31 years. Stepwise regression function of SPSS was applied to see the per role of cyberloafing dimensions on innovative work behavior and t test was used to understand the group mean difference between gender and public & private organization types. The result of the study shows that informational function with β =.20, p <.001; social function with β =.13, p <.05, while leisure function with β = -. 11, p <.05 effect on innovative work behaviors. Thus this unique research, it is aimed to start new discussions in the literature, to find constructive way of managing the reality of cyberloafing in today’s’ online workplace.
