Competency Improvement Needs of Facilitators for Enhancing Adult Education Programme in Edo State, Nigeria (Published)

We designed this study to determine the skill improvement needs of facilitators for enhancing Adult learning programmes in Edo state, Nigeria. The research design was a descriptive survey. The population of the study was 549. Simple random sampling technique was used to drown a sample of 108 facilitators by balloting.  Two research queries were posed with two null hypotheses to guide the study. A researcher-designed questionnaire was used to elicit information from the respondents. The questionnaire instrument was subjected to face and content validation using three experts from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. We used Cronbach alpha to determine the reliability coefficient of the instrument. The result was .85 and .68 for each query. We analyzed the data collected using mean and standard deviation to answer the research queries and used t-test statistics to analyze the hypotheses at (P>0.05) level of significance. The result showed that the skill improvement needs of facilitators to enhance adult education programme include: the ability to find the right condition that will enable achievement of programme goals, analytical ability to evaluate the various ways in the light of multiple factors that may hinder or help in programme implementation, and the ability to sequentially coordinate activities for a smooth flow of programme activities. It also includes listening ability, knowing the demographic nature of messages, and presentation of subject matter in the right context for learners understanding among others. We recommended that facilitators should be equipped with these skills to improve adult education programmes in Edo state Nigeria.

QOS Reliability and Improvement for Congestion Probability Routing in ATM Networks (Published)

The other primitives for switch management and control are borrowed heavily from the specified protocol. They include priority for switch configuration port and switch management VP management and permanent measurement. The protocol was implemented and integrated with the OPNET platform. Without going into specifies of the protocol we describe its design principles and show how it has affected in the protocol. Traditional connection switches include an embedded processor that implements both the switch control and network signaling. The objective of CAC is to keep the network load moderate to achieve a performance objective associated with QOS. Cell loss ratio a key QOS parameter in ATM networks is essential for proper network resources dimensioning, congestion control , bandwidth allocation and routing.

Skills Improvement Needs of Lecturers in the Utilization of selected Weather Instruments for Instructional Delivery in Tertiary Institutions in North-East Nigeria (Published)

The purpose of the study was to determine the skill improvement needs of lecturers in the utilization of weather instruments for effective teaching of students of agriculture in tertiary institutions in North-East, Nigeria. A survey research design was adopted for the study. Four research questions guided the study. The study was carried out in North-East, Nigeria. The population of the study was 219 respondents comprising of 17 Lecturers of Agricultural Education, 9 Lecturers of Soil Science, 8 Lecturers of Geography in Universities and 185 Lecturers of Agricultural Education in Colleges of Education. The entire population constituted the sample for the study. The instrument for data collection was a structured questionnaire named “Utilization of Weather Instruments Questionnaire” (UWIQ). Five experts validated the instrument and was trial-tested. A Cronbach Alpha reliability coefficient of 0.83 was obtained indicating that instrument was reliable to elicit information for the work. Two hundred and nineteen copies of the questionnaire were administered to the respondents by six trained research assistants in the six States of North-East, Nigeria. The entire questionnaire was retrieved. The data collected were analyzed using weighted mean and improvement need index (INI) to answer the 4 research questions. It was found that all the 64 skill improvement needs identified in the utilization of weather instruments were needed by Lecturers of Agricultural Education in Colleges of Education. The result revealed that Lecturers of Agricultural Education need skill improvement on the following items: 19 skills on utilizing Stevenson Screen, 16 skills on utilizing Thermo-hygrograph, 20 skills on utilizing Maximum and Minimum Thermometers and 10 skills on utilizing Sunshine Recorder. Based on these findings, it was recommended that: Lecturers of Agricultural Education should seek for ways of improving their skills in utilizing weather instruments; Administrators of Colleges of Education should support and approve study leave for Lecturers of Agricultural Education to attend workshops, seminars and conferences on utilization of weather instruments; Skill acquisition organizations should package the finding of the study into capacity building programmes for re-training both Lecturers of Agricultural Education in Colleges of Education and teachers of Agriculture Science in Secondary Schools in North-East, Nigeria.

Body Weight and Linear Measurement at Sexual Maturity of F1 Progeny from West African Dwarf and White Bornu Goats Crossing In Humid Nigeria (Published)

Twenty-four unit breeding herd of two indigenous goat breeds (West African Dwarf and White Bornu) were raised in a humid environment of Nigeria to evaluate the effect of breed and sex on the body weight and linear measurement at sexual maturity of progenies from within and between crosses of both breeds. Results from the study revealed that breed and sex had significant influence on parameters assessed with higher values been observed in the crossbred and the White Bomu purebred. Body weight values ranged from 22. 76 ± 2.17 to 34.43 ± 1. 77 cm with higher value observed in crossbred. This trend was also revealed in traits such as Height at wither (HA W), Heart girth (HG), Body length (BL), Upper fore limb (UFL), Lower fore limb (LFL), and Upper hind limb (UHL). However, lower hind limb (LHL) -was higher in White Bornu purebred with value of 18.47+0.60 and the crossbred recording 17.64 ± 0.74 cm which implies that improvement was made on traits of the West African Dwarf goat due to crossbreeding with White Bornu.

SERVICE STANDARDS MANUAL (Published)

As for the continued and rapid increasing of Dubai as one of the world most targeted areas for businesses and investments, transportation has become one of the main challenges that face decision makers in Dubai. RTA thus was established to unify responsibilities previously spread between several governmental departments (Dubai Municipality and Police Department). Moreover, RTA adopted decentralization by establishing 8 separate agencies and sectors in order to achieve highest levels of flexibility. The “RTA Service Standards Manual” governs the entire portfolio of existing and news services offered by RTA. The Manual is considered imperative to unify and standardize the varied approaches that are taken today in service development and monitoring
