Language Use and Effective Leadership Communication in A Democratic Society (Published)
A study was carried out in Imo State, Nigeria, on the language use and effective leadership communication in a democratic society. Respondents are people with leadership positions in 0rganizations. Three hundred and fourteen respondents were sampled answered questions structured in 5-point Likert scale. Data were analysed using descriptive statistical methods. Majority of the respondents agreed that leaders should set goals and targets; carry everyone along for a peaceful, progressive society. Majority of respondents too, strongly disagreed that members of a society must always carry out leader’s orders without asking questions. High number of the respondents also strongly agreed that a leader should have good communication skills; be strategic, emotionally intelligent, and always use positive phrases devoid of ambiguous expressions. Possibly, leaders can communicate to the society in their indigenous language. Language shapes the society; good leaders should apply polite strategies in their communication with citizens, this enhances effective communication and helps the leader to gain acceptability for growth and development in the society.

Examining the Need for Effective Communication and Structures for Leadership in the Legislative Service (Published)
The legislature, irrespective of clime or political configuration, incontrovertibly plays a strategic role in the growth and consolidation of democracy. This explains why the political circle expects much from the legislature. Owing to the strategic role of this institution, this paper, among other things, reveals the place of effective communication and effective legislative service structure in Nigeria. Understandably, effective communication is at the centre of effective legislative service. Using descriptive research design, the paper concludes that effective communication is pivotal to a productive legislative system in Nigeria. Based on this, it is recommended that lawmakers should break down legislative information into essential units and keep the chain of information transmission short. Again, it is also recommended that a two way communication process that encourages feedback should be preferred in the place of linear communication.

Antecedents of Relationship Quality on Commitment in the Health-Care Sector in Port Harcourt, Nigeria (Published)
Our emphasis is to investigate the antecedent of relationship quality on commitment in the health-care sector in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. The study design takes on a cross-sectional survey with researchers adopting a quantitative research approach. 151 copies of a structured questionnaire were conveniently administered on the customers of the various hospitals and clinics in Port Harcout of which 118 copies were found useable. The measurement scale used for the three constructs of the study was modified from extant literature. Correlation coefficient and regression analysis using (SPSS 20.0 version and Gretl statistical package were employed for data analysis and testing of the proposed study model. Results point to a significant and positive relationship between antecedent of relationship quality constructs; seller provider expertise and effective communication on commitment. We therefore recommend that a physician’s expertise and his ability to communicate effectively with his clients can lead to a more committed relationship with them. What is more, such an expertise must be proven through superior skills, capabilities etc and deliberately display and communicate evidence of quality when necessity dictates. Physicians should ensure timely and accurate information are given to their clients. That is, communication must precede, follow and be concurrent with service delivery. Also, clients must open up to their doctors and share relevant information with them.

Relationship between Teachers’ Effective Communication and Students’ Academic Achievement at the Northern Border University, Saudi Arabia (Published)
Effective Communication between faculty members and students is one of the concerns of the educational stakeholders at the Northern Border University, Saudi Arabia. This study investigates the relationship between teachers’ effective communication and students’ academic achievement at the Northern Border University. The survey questionnaire containing 26 items was administered on 100 students, 50 males and 50 females to ask about their perception towards the effective communication of the faculty members and their academic achievement at the Faculty of Education and Arts, Northern Border University in the City of Arar, Saudi Arabia. The results of the Descriptive statistics method showed that, almost more than half of the students agreed that, the friendly and understanding position maintained by their faculty members had helped them to highly achieve academically. The results of the independent sample T-test found no statistically significant differences between the students ‘academic achievement and their faculty members’ verbal communication across the respondents’ gender and year of study. The study recommended for the Northern Border Authority as well as the Saudi Government looking into other areas that might bring about the effective communication of the staff and the students’ academic achievement in the University.
