Patterns and Prevalence of Gambling Behaviour among Youths in South-West Nigeria: A Case Study of Youths in Oyo and Ekiti State (Published)

Gambling has become an activity that most Nigerian youths and adolescents engaged in, with accessibility due to available internet. This study, therefore, aimed to investigate the patterns and prevalence of gambling behavior among youths in the South-West Nigeria. 320 participants were involved in the study. Four hypotheses were tested and result shows that there is a significant difference in the gambling behaviour of youth in Oyo and Ekiti State, Nigeria based on age (F(2,294) = 2.793, P(.009)<.05).also the research showed that there is a significant relationship between financial strain and gambling behaviour (r(297) = .561p<.05). Also, there is a significant relationship between personality and gambling. (r(297) = .275 p<.05). Furthermore, it was revealed that there is a relationship between depression and gambling behaviour. (r(297) = .321 p<.05). Findings were discussed in line with extant literature and recommendations were made.

Non-Technical Approach as Traffic Control Strategy (Case Study Of Bogor City) (Published)

The objective of this research was to model the relationship between the traffic in Bogor City in terms of non-technical aspects (i.e. ethics and behavior) among three categories of respondent namely private vehicle drivers, public transport drivers, and pedestrians. Data was collected using a structured questionnaire. The data was then analyzed using SmartPLS software. The results indicated that ethics and behavior of private vehicle drivers, behavior of public transport drivers, and ethics and behavior of pedestrian all had a significant relationship with the traffic of Bogor City with behavior of public transport drivers becoming the most significant predictors of traffic of Bogor City. The implications from this research are further explored as recommendations for the Government of Bogor City.

Social Cultural Transformation in Attitude and Behavior of Padoe Community (A Case Study of Padoe Community in Mining Area Of Pt. Vale, Tbk. In Wasuponda, Luwu District, South Sulawesi Province) (Published)

The presence of PT Vale Tbk in Wasuponda, Luwu Timur Regency resulted in a change of attitudes and behavior pattern of Padoe Community due to effect of social problems created by the operation of mining companies in the region. This study aims (1) to explain and describe the attitudes and behavior pattern of Padoe Community before the entry of mining industry in their customary territory. (2) To reveal and describe whether the presence of the mining industry PT. Vale Tbk caused a change in attitude and behavior patterns of Padoe Community and what are the changes in attitudes and behavior. (3) To find out the implications of social, economic, political and cultural changes in the Community due to the presence of PT. Vale, Tbk. The method used to collect data is observation, interviews, and literature reviews. The data collected are presented in descriptive analytical form. The research results indicated first, the attitudes and behavior pattern of Padoe Community before the entry of the Mining Industry PT. Vale Indonesia Tbk in Wasuponda Region, East Luwu Regency. They upheld the sense of mutual cooperation in community life and lived from gardening, breeding buffalo, managing sago and resin, searching rattan, and hunting. Second, a change in attitudes and behavior patterns of Padoe Community after the entry of the mining in Wasuponda. People are getting interested and seeing opportunities in industrial sector. Demand for labor is one reason for people preferring industrial activities rather than agricultural activities that more income they could get from the industrial activities than farming. It was the beginning of the changes in Padoe communities in Wasuponda. In addition, a change also takes place in educational orientation and roles in the family. Third, implications of social, economic, and cultural changes of Padoe Community due to the presence of PT. Vale, Tbk.  Community life behavior of Padoe people changes because of the effect from outsiders through PT. Vale and that brings a variety of land issues: destruction of forest resources, such as resin and rattan. Meanwhile, the foothills usually processed by people as gardens and tubers have become part of mining concessions that they can no longer be worked on.

A Review of the Literature on Transformational Leadership (Published)

: This literature review aims to understand transformational leadership as a theory and its application, especially in the field of education. This study reviews nine qualitative works on the use of transformational leadership theory in education and identifies three major themes: 1.) globalization and multiculturalism, 2.) behaviour and preparedness, and 3.) achievement. In reviewing these works, the authors focus on how transformational leadership influences the behaviour and practice of leaders in an effort to improve student achievement. The authors also examine limitations to the application of transformational leadership. Ultimately, the researchers determine that transformational leadership requires leaders to demonstrate specific skills focused on the equitable implementation of major reforms.

Measuring the Role of Peers in Controlling Social Behavior among Students of the Lower Basic Stage in Jordan (Published)

The current study aimed to measure the role of peers in controlling social behavior among students of lower basic stage in Jordan. To achieve the study objectives the researcher applied the descriptive analytical approach. The study sample was made of (100) students of the whole study population (2469). After applying the study tool, the researcher concluded that there is an effective role for peers in controlling social behavior, and that this role is high and of great impact on children’s behavior and raising them up. In the end, the researcher recommended the importance of focusing on providing good environment for children through adopting Islamic education methods

Health Education and Its Relation with Health Knowledge among College Students in Kuwait (Published)

College is considered one of the important means for health education attainment. Thus, having a profound impact on student’s health, attitude, and behavior. In this study, we assesse and examine the relation of health education intervention with health knowledge and behavior, some these disruptive behaviors include smoking, drugs, injury, disease, individual abuse, stress, mental and emotional health among students of different colleges under PAAET (The Public Authority for Applied Education & training). These colleges are (college of Health Science’s, Nursing, Technological Studies, Basic Education, Business Studies). Besides these colleges, there are numbers of training institutes such as: (The higher Institute of Telecommunication and Navigation, Nursing institute, Secretarial and Office Administration Institute). We also want to inspect the relation between health education, health behavior, and attitude of college students regarding, their age, sex, and education level. Never the less, to elevate health knowledge of these students, in giving them a better healthy lifestyle for their coming future.

The Influence of Health Promotion on Behaviorin Preventive and Treatment of Pulmonary Tuberculosison Prisoner Grade I of Medan City (Published)

Introduction Pulmonary tuberculosis is recognized a directly infectious disease resulted by Tuberculosis bacterial (Mycobacterium tuberculosa). The prison Administration of Medan pointed out that for 3 years period (2009-2011) got rising cases in Pulmonary of those prisoners. One of efforts to press down is by prevention and overcome it on the prisoner is with a health promotion. Materials & Methodes: The objective of this study is to know the affect of health promotion over the effort in prevention and the treatment of Pulmonary TB on prisoners in Medan. On the preventive group, total sample of each group of intervention and control noted 158 people. On the treatment group, total sample of each group of intervention and control noted 58 people. In taking the sample is by simple random sampling. The variable to measure such as knowledge, attitude and action. The data was obtained by questionnaires that has been distributed before and after a health promotion held, then data was analyzed using t-dependent test. Result : The result of study on preventive group indicated an increasing score of knowledge found (p = 0.004), behave (p < 0.001), and action (p = <0.001) on the Pulmonary TB prevention on intervention group compared to a control group (p = > 0.05). On the treatment group also increasing score average of knowledge found (p = 0.017), attitude (p = < 0.001), and action (p = 0.025) on treatment of Pulmonary TB on intervention group compared to a control group (p = > 0.05). Conclusions:  It is found an influence of health promotion upon one’s attitudes (knowledge, behave, and action) for preventive and treatment Pulmonary TB on prisons available in Medan.

Develop a model for measuring customer satisfaction in chain stores”” Case study: Yas Store (Review Completed - Accepted)

Discovering customer requirements and needs then fulfilling them better and more efficiently than competitors cause customer satisfaction; therefore, it can be one of the requirements of the company’s success recently. The purpose of this paper is to propose and evaluate a model for measuring customer satisfaction in Yas store. This study is a descriptive survey that Yas store’s customers form the sample; 384 customers are selected by using non-random sampling of the kind of judgment method. Questionnaire is the main tool of this research for data collection. The research model was tested using path analysis that results indicate a significant relationship among customer expectations, employees’ behaviors and store indexes with customer satisfaction in Yas shop.
