Effects of Social Networking Sites on EFL Teachers and Students

Abstract

This study examines the effects of Social Network Sites (SNS) on English language teaching and learning. SNS effectiveness was measured by participants’ experience, attitudes, perceptions, and expectations toward SNS. 107 EFL teachers and 103 EFL students from several higher education institutions were investigated. Findings revealed significant differences between teachers’ and students’ experiences, attitudes, perceptions, and expectations regarding the effectiveness of SNS in EFL instruction.
