INFLUENCE TILLAGE DEPTH AND SOIL MULCHING SYSTEMS AND FERTILIZER SOME OF THE THERMAL PROPERTIES OF THE SOIL SILTY CLAY (SIC)

Abstract

Experiment was conducted to study the effect of factors ,first factor tillage’s depth for three levels (15,25 and 45 cm),two factor soil mulched system three level (single sheet plastic ,double sheet plastic and no covering).three factor fertilizer type (chemical ,organic and without) upon thermal flux (w/m2), soil thermal conductivity (w/m.k) and soil volumetric heat capacity (J/m3.k). Studying the effect depth tillage and mulched system upon soil bulk density (gm/cm3) and volumetric water content (kg/kg). The results show there is significant difference for tillage’s depth on the soil thermal properties ,it is observed that increasing tillage’s depth causes lowering soil thermal flux while to increasing soil thermal conductivity, we gained that the highest volumetric heat capacity at 8.22 X 10 5 concluded at the value of tillage depth 25 cm ,The increased tillage depth causes increased in soil bulk density .fertilizer system did not significantly difference the soil thermal properties. The soil mulched system has significant difference, it resaved that double-mulched gained at the highest thermal flux of 26.29 w/m2, high soil thermal conductivity 0.822 w/m.k, , highest soil volumetric heat capacity 9.703 X 105 J/m3.k and high volumetric water content 0.231 kg/kg.
